Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra: Released Movie on same day

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra are inevitably going to be pitted against one another on the 1st of October, as both the flicks, ‘Endhiran’, and ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, are now slated to release on the same day!Even though ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, was supposed to be releasing on the 24th as per the earlier schedule, the release date has been pushed back, thus, this has made the flick clash with the much awaited most expensive flick ever made on Indian soil ‘,Endhiran’.

As known, Aishwarya and Rajnikant are two of the most popular faces to have ever embraced the Indian silver screen, thus, it is being assumed that their flick will have tremendous success at the box office. With tabloids reporting ticket sales being a complete sell out, this sci- fi sure seems to be a big winner. On the other hand, ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, being a Ranbir Priyanka starrer, and having some great foreign locales, with some great fun filled moments, a rom- com of sorts, is also touted to be one major attraction at the box office! The buzz is however that will Priyanka give tough competition to the ever popular Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, will the two be in a only I’m the winner situation, or will it be a nail biting finish for both of them, where everyday will be a major competition day, with all eyes tabulating over who is the bigger crowd puller? Well, this is getting tougher to decide! Just start counting downwards, till the ‘D’ day!

Beyonce Knowles

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is an African-American R&B singer, actress, and chief songwriter and producer in the group Destiny's Child. In a Universal Music poll conducted earlier this year, Beyonce beat out Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to be crowned the Princess of Pop.

She is usually referred to by only her first name, Beyoncé, which is her stage name, but has come to be called "Beyoncé Knowles" by many in the media. Her debut solo album, 2003's Dangerously In Love, topped both the R&B and pop charts in America, as well as the main album charts in Canada and the UK. The album has spawned four top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 including "Crazy In Love" featuring boyfriend [[Jay-Z], "Baby Boy" featuring Sean Paul, "Me Myself & I", and "Naughty Girl" all of which were back-to-back multi-week number ones on said chart during last summer and fall. Beyoncé has won five Grammy Awards for her solo work and three as a member of Destiny's Child. As a teen, she attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where she honed her musical talents.

Destiny's Child

Beyoncé and Destiny's Child toured as an opening act for both Christina Aguilera and TLC before their first album, also called Destiny's Child. The band is managed by her father, Matthew Knowles, who is acknowledged as a strong force in Beyoncé's life. Beyoncé is the main songwriter for the group and is generally regarded as its leader. The group has currently returned from a hiatus since 2001, when its three current members, Beyoncé, Rowland, and Michelle Williams, each decided to temporarily pursue solo careers.

The group's self-titled album, released in 1998, was produced by Wyclef Jean and Jermaine Dupri and featured the platinum-selling, number one Hot 100 single "No, No, No". The album itself also went platinum. Destiny Child's second album The Writing's On The Wall released in 1999 featured two number one hits in "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name". ("Bug-A-Boo" and "Jumpin' Jumpin'" were also popular singles off the album.) "Say My Name" won two awards at the 2001 Grammys for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best R&B Song, the latter of which was awarded to the songwriters, which included Beyoncé herself.

The next album, Survivor, proved to be another smash, going to number one on both the American Billboard 200 and R&B Albums charts, and on the Canadian album chart, as well as being generally successful around the world. Two singles from the album went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100: "Independent Women" (Part 1) and "Bootylicious", with the album's title track reaching number 2. "Independent Women" (Part 1) had been the theme song for Charlie's Angels in late 2000, prior to the album's 2001 release. The title track "Survivor" would win the band their second Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The album's fourth and final single, "Emotions", was a cover of the Bee Gees hit of the same name; it continued the group's impressive string of top ten hits.

In 2004 they have announced that they will release two more albums. The first, Destiny Fulfilled has been released, along with the first singles: "Lose My Breath", "Soldier" and "Girl". All of these reached the top 10 Billboard album and singles charts respectively.

Solo career

In 2001, Beyoncé won the Songwriter of the Year award, from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Pop Music Awards. She is the first African American woman and the second woman of any race to win the award.

Beyonce then turned to acting, starring in MTV's "Carmen" without any previous training. In the summer of 2002, Beyoncé co-starred in the film Austin Powers in Goldmember opposite Mike Myers' role of Austin Powers, as Foxxy Cleopatra. She also recorded a song and produced a music video, called "Work It Out", for the movie soundtrack. "Work It Out" was a top 10 hit in the UK and a top 40 hit in the Netherlands, Australia, and Ireland, despite being Beyoncé's biggest flop to date in her home country; in America, radio barely played the song and the video received very minor exposure, only on digital video channels, MTV Jams and VH1 Soul.

During the fall of 2002, Beyoncé was the featured vocalist on Jay-Z's smash single, "'03 Bonnie And Clyde". The couple are engaged, and current rumours say that they will marry soon.

In the spring of 2003, Beyoncé remade a duet with Luther Vandross, called "The Closer I Get To You", originally performed by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. In this version, the vocal parts are flipped around, with Luther taking Roberta's part and Beyoncé taking Donny's. The song was included both on her debut solo album and on Luther's Dance With My Father set, and they shared the Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals.

In 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album Dangerously In Love. Its first single, "Crazy In Love", featured a guest rap from Jay-Z and rapidly became one of the biggest hits of that summer, staying at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for ten weeks. Dangerously In Love went to the top of the album charts in the UK and Canada, as well as on both the American pop (Billboard 200) and R&B charts. This album has sold in excess of 6 million copies worldwide. When single and album simultaneously topped the pop charts in both the US and the UK, she became the first act to achieve this feat since Men At Work in 1983 - in the '60s and '70s, it was performed by the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Rod Stewart.

On the televised celebration of July 4 in 2003, Beyoncé came under controversy from the Grant Memorial Association for her performance of "Crazy In Love", in which she danced in a "patently inappropriate" way on the steps of the tomb of President Ulysses S. Grant. President Grant's great-grandsons Ulysses Grant Dietz and Chapman Foster Grant, spoke up on Knowles' behalf. "The way the world is now, who cares?" said Chapman Grant, "who knows? If the old guy were alive, he might have enjoyed it."

Towards the end of the summer, "Baby Boy", Dangerously In Love's second single, which featured reggae star Sean Paul, began to climb the charts. It, too, went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2003, dominating radio airplay for the fall of 2003.

Around the same time, Beyoncé starred in the movie The Fighting Temptations opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. and recorded a song for it called "Fighting Temptation", with rappers Missy Elliott, Free, and MC Lyte. Unlike Beyoncé's own singles, the song did not become popular, although the movie was a moderate success.

Fresh off the success of "Baby Boy", Beyoncé released her third solo single, "Me Myself And I" towards the end of 2003; Dangerously In Love's fourth single, "Naughty Girl", came out in mid-2004. Both have also made the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Beyonce currently is in pre-production for The Pink Panther in the role of Xania, appearing opposite Steve Martin who plays Inspector Clouseau. The film is scheduled for release in 2005.

Preity Zinta Born in Shimla 31 January 1975, Himachal Pradesh, she hails from a family of Rohru in Shimla District. Preity Zinta initially planned to do an English honours but later decided to pursue psychology. Preity Zinta also attended Bombay University. After earning a degree in criminal psychology at the St. Bedes College, Zinta began her career as a model and commercial ad films actress and Preity Zinta was seen in Lyril’s soap ad film.Preity Zinta father, Durganand Zinta was an officer in the Indian Army. Durganand Zinta died when Preity was thirteen, in a car accident which also involved her mother, Nilprabha Zinta. Her mother broke many bones in the accident, including her spine. Her mother was bedridden for two years because of this incident. Zinta has two brothers, Deepankar Zinta and Manish Zinta, a year older and a year younger, respectively. Deepankar is a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, while Manish is settled in Los Angeles.
Preity Zinta is an award-winning Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies. She is among the most successful actresses in the industry, and is regarded as one of the biggest names in India. Zinta has primarily acted in mainstream cinema having the biggest hits of the last years, but has also done some critically acclaimed films. Today, Zinta is placed on the top in the list of the biggest actresses of this generation.

The Delhiite who hails from a defence background, had already made her mark as a model while still in school & shot to fame as the refreshing, cool, wet model in the Liril ad. This, along with her mischievous expressions and twinkling eyes in the Cadbury’s Perk ad brought her to Shekhar Kapur’s notice. The famed director was then looking for fresh faces to launch his film ’Tara Rum Pum Pum’. Preity signed on the dotted line, but the film never took off. However, her name was already doing the industry rounds and she bagged a couple of films in quick time. Luckily for Preity, ’Dil Se..’ was her first release. The film bombed at the box-office, but Preity’s dazzling smile and pleasant disposition in a small but significant role left behind a decidedly happy impression. With ’Dil Se..’ Preity had already proved she could act. ’Soldier’ (1998) and ’Sangharsh’ (1999) have merely reiterated this fact. In the former she played an impish, spoilt rich girl with great conviction. In the latter she was equally at ease executing the part of a gritty young CBI trainee in search of a dreaded killer. She made a mark in the industry with her film "Kya Kehna". She’s hit the highway 2003 year with two good performances The Hero and Armaan and one big hit Koi... Mil Gaya. The road ahead looks even better, plum projects with Yash Chopra, Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar have taken care of that. Recently seen in movies ’Kal Ho Naa Ho’ & ’Lakshya’. However, Preity, a relentless self-improver, doesn’t take her success lightly. Or too seriously either, for that matter. Maybe that’s why she enjoys it so much. Preity, a graduate in Psychology, is so pretty, outspoken and a beautiful actress-dancer who keeps smiling all the time with a dimple on her right cheek. She acted in one movie in Tollywood too. She dated Marc Robinson, one of the hottest models in India, Model and TV anchor (2001) now, broke up with Marc Robinson.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan: Biography
Born in October of 1942 when the British rule was beginning to lose power, Amitabh Bachchan is close to completing 60 years of a lifetime. Not interested in films at first, he joined the industry in 1969 with Saat Hindustani. He also became Bollywood’s first action man with Zanjeer in 1973. Then, he was known as "the angry young man" after that movie. This movie gave him acclaim and made him a superstar. He started doing such roles in a time whether other superstars such as Shashi Kapoor, Dharmendra, and Rajesh Khanna were attached to romantic roles. He then starred in Deewar with the yesteryear heart-throb Shashi Kapoor. This went on to become a super hit.He already had eleven films completed by end of 1972. His popularity rose when he won the Best Supporting Actor award for his film Anand in 1971 and then again for the film Namak Haram in 1973. He also did win Most Promosing Newcomer for Saat Hindustani but that wasn’t a very prestigious award at the time. Many people also felt that he should have won best actor for Zanjeer but unfortunately he was unable to walk away with the award. In a stardust interview he talks about his childhood and how he was a shy kid and how his father, the great poet Harisvansh Rai Bhachan helped him overcome this, which he says is one of the reasons of his success of his films. He is married to another star in the industry, Jaya Bachan, whom he met during the shooting for Guddi. He also has two children, daughter Shweta Bachan and son Abhishek Bachchan; who has followed into his father footsteps. The mid-late 70’s was when Amitabh really starting rolling in the hits, especially in 1975 where he released an amazing seven films, none of which flopped. One of these films was Chupke Chupke, which became an eventual super-hit, and proved his flair for comedy roles as well. His next release was the unforgettable Dewar, which became an all-time hit. His next film needs no introduction, as Sholay went on to become a true classic, a movie which people still talk about today. His later releases in the late 70’s were classics such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhi Kabhi, Don, and Trishul. He worked with yerter year stars such as Shashi Kapoor, Jaya Badhuri, Dharmendra, and Vinod Khanna and got a chance to prove his worth working alongside them. People then thought that he wouldn’t be able to cope working with such stars, but not only has he proven them wrong he has overtaken their status.By the time the 80’s rolled around people had already claimed Amitabh Bachchan the king of Bollywood, overtaking stars such as Shashi Kapoor and the evergreen Raj Kapoor. He had released an incredible forty-eight movies since 1969-1979, only of which nine did less than average business. In today’s terms any actor would love to have that kind of luck. His luck didn’t dwindle when the 80’s started as his first movie of the new decade Barsaat Ki Ek Raat became a hit, and his success continued with films such as Dostana, Shaan, Laawaris, Silsia and Naseeb, all of became super-hits. His first flop of the decade came in 1988 with Ganga Januma Saraswati. Until then he had released thirty movies, all of which became either hits or super-hits. It was after that movie that people thought he time had run out, as he had four consecutive flops.By the time our generation rolled around, the 90’s; Amitabh Bachchan had become popular worldwide, by Indians and other cultures. After his four consecutive flops in the late 80’s Mr. Bachchan rolled back with Aaj Ka Arjun and Agneepath. Still, one could see his career was finally fading away after more than twenty years in the industry. He had started making only a couple of movies annually instead of the five-six he was used to doing. His next big hit came with Hum, as he had started to play the roles of elderly people. He wasn’t the same charismatic youth he used to be. Nevertheless, Amitabh Bachchan remained Amitabh Bachchan. He proved that he was still human as he had another downhill slide when Insaniyaat and Mrityudaata flopped. But like all actors he jumped back with commission earner Major Saab and starred in the comedy Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which went on to become a hit. 1999 was a bad year for him as Sooryavansham, Lal Badshaah, Hindustan Ki Kasam, and Kohram all flopped. People had started to assume that the Big B had finally given out and his time was over. Only Amitbah Bachan knew the truth. His next film in the new century Mohabbatein became a super hit, as did his next release Ek Rishtaa. People will say that his latest release Aks was a flop, but his acting proved his capabilities.Nearing the age of sixty, Amitabh Bachchan is the only actor of the older generation that can still light up the big screen. His big release Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham went out to become a Blockbuster of the year 2002. Besides that he has another five-six films lined up for release within the next two years, all of them which show Amitabh Bachchan’s variety of capabilities. Last year he was voted most popular icon internationally by the BBC poll and had his own wax statue erected in the famous wax statue in London . Many fans consider his films a religion and he has been able to thrive on it. No one knows when Amitabh Bachchan plans on quitting films, but can be sure to go out with a bang.
